Bob has been involved with Scouting for 55 years, since his first Cub meeting! He is our Group Scout Leader- which means he’s in charge of all the volunteers in the group. Bob is also Cub Scout Leader with Blackroot Pack.

Fun Fact: Bob loves walking and has completed the Yorkshire Felsman Hike of 65 miles in 24 hours none stop!

Claire has been part of Scouting since volunteering for her DofE award 16 years ago and has been a leader for 5 years. She works as a Maths Teacher and currently looks after both our Beaver Colonies. She also has two family members in the group, Beverly and Celia! Claire is often behind the Tweets from our Twitter account.

Fun Fact: Claire has a slightly out of control obsession with cows, especially Highland Cows!

Celia has been involved with Scouting for 12 years, beginning as a Parent Helper, and she loved it so much she decided to become a Leader 5 years ago! She works as a Switchboard Operator and is known for being a fantastic tea maker!

Fun Fact: Celia is looking into buying a goat!

Lynda has been involved with Scouting for 30 years, in a variety of roles including Beaver Scout Leader, Cub Scout Leader and Group Scout Leader. She is a School Secretary and currently helps in our Beaver colonies.

Fun Fact: Lynda can sing “How Much is that Doggy in the Window” backwards and has famous soap star relatives!

Chomper has been an important part of the group for 5 years, and spends his time when he’s not at Beavers chopping down trees and making dams.

Fun Fact: Chomper and his friend Tom like to make sure new Beavers don’t get scared in their first few weeks!

Tom is a full-time Beaver, and has been with us for 5 years. He loves eating Cheerios and Coco Pops! Tom and his friend Chomper help make sure new Beavers don’t get scared in their first few weeks!

Fun Fact: Each week Tom stays at a Beaver’s house and joins in with all the fun they have, and makes sure he eats all his vegetables whilst there!

Beverly has been involved with Scouting for 20 years. She works as a Civil Servant, and loves activities such as Science experiments, craft and anything else messy!

Fun Fact: Beverly loves spending lots of time outdoors and taking Cubs to camp.

Julie has been in Scouting for 20 years, and now is part of the Bracebridge Pack leader team. She works as a Stakeholder Manager.

Fun Fact: When not working or Scouting, Julie likes to spend time reading and in the garden!

Dave has been in Scouting since 1990, and now forms part of the Cub Leader team. Dave works as a Checkout Operator and Landscape Gardener and likes to spend time outdoors walking.

Fun Fact: Dave loves building fires and then singing silly songs around them!

Rob has been in Scouting for 59 years, 47 of which have been in a variety of Leader roles! He is a retired accountant and has been awarded both the Medal of Merit with Bar and the Silver Acorn award for his dedication to Scouting.

Fun Fact: Rob loves music and watching and playing any sports, but his favourites are cricket and golf!

Joanne has been part of Scouting for 10 years, as a volunteer on our Cub camps. You can often find her in the camp kitchen! She works as a Pharmacy Technician.

Fun Fact: Joanne always volunteers to cut the cakes on camp- it means she can eat all the crumbs and, of course, test them out for the Cubs!

Blackroot has been part of Scouting for almost 40 years, and takes the very important role of Camp Supervisor. He’s a full-time Cub and has been to every Cub camp since getting involved.

Fun Fact: Blackroot loves campfires but isn’t very good with the actions!

Rohan has been in Scouting since he joined Beavers in 2007. He is a Geography Student and works as a Lifeguard and Outdoor Instructor. He is also the District Youth Commissioner, so is in charge of making sure Young People’s views and ideas are included in Scouting!

Fun Fact: Despite being the group’s tech whizz, Rohan actually spends most of his spare time outdoors, hiking, climbing or kayaking!

Kristina joined the team in 2018, having seen an advert recruiting new Scout Leaders. Since then she has learnt loads of new skills, but, just like all of us, is still learning and developing Skills for Life. Kristina works as an Assistant Manager in retail, and has lots of hobbies including art, karate, poetry and coin collecting, as well as her impressive knowledge of Lord of the Rings!

Fun Fact: Kristina has had two books published!

Paul has been in Scouting ever since his first Cub meeting. He now helps in the Scout Troop as a Troop Assistant, having recently retired after being the Scout Leader for a very long time! He is a retired Intensive Care Consultant and a proud owner of a Camp Blanket. Paul has been awarded the Medal of Merit and the Chief Scout’s Commendation for his services to Scouting.

Fun Fact: Paul can tie lots of knots with his eyes closed!

Carol joined the team in 2019, volunteering to help us keep our group website up to date! She has never been in Scouting before that, but her eldest child has started Cubs. Carol works as a Communications Manager and in her spare time, she likes being outdoors, gardening, walking, riding her bike and exploring new places.

Fun Fact: Carol can drive a tractor and once organised an event for the Queen and Prince Philip!
